MEWIL, Medieval Women In Letters (Unisi)

MEWIL – Medieval Women in Letters
Funded F-CUR University project. Scientific coordinator: Elisabetta Bartoli
MEWIL studies medieval letters written by women, addressed to women, or concerning female figures, across the different linguistic and literary traditions of the Middle Ages.
The project supported the organisation of the international conference MEWIL – Medieval Women in Letters, held in Siena from 22 to 24 November 2023, the publication of its proceedings, and the development of publications, digital resources and teaching materials devoted to medieval women’s letter writing.
MEWIL also contributed to funding the activities of the international project Lettres de femmes au Moyen Âge, developed in collaboration with the Université Franco-Italienne and the DFCLAM.
